I made some zoomie's for my truck and all seemed well till
I got under it to find that I cracked the headers in to spots. I ran muflers on the outside off my frame that tie
in. I see alot of you guys with similar set ups. Do you
guys run solid motor mounts? I did not. I'm thinking if I
do it my help solve my problem. Any thoughts. Sorry my spelling sucks!

Who posted some pics some time ago that showed the exhaust hangers bolted to the tranny?
That was so beautifully logical and simpel, it pissed me off that I had never thought of if myself yet...

Metalshapes, do you run solid m/m. The exhaust on mt truck runs down the outer frame rails. The motor moves a good bit when I hit the pedal. Do you think brakets made to the trans will be good on there own.

onelow48 - I'm not sure what you are calling zoomies. Those are open dragster style headers - 4 individual tubes. If you mean lakes style, or limefire style that have a conical collector and a down tube to the muffler, you need a hanger where the down tube curves to the frame, and another one behind the muffler on the tailpipe. I tried running mine without the first hanger and they cracked also. No problem after I added the front hanger. I can take a picture if you need one.

  7. Can you mount the exaust so it can move a bit? Solid motor mounts are kinda harsh on the street.

    sounds like fenderwell headers,

the trani to exhuast mount is used when the system runs inside the rails along the drivetrain

Do you have your exhaust mounted solid if so thats your problem. It needs to flex make some kind of rubber hanger work . You don't want solid motor mounts they will drive you nuts. Did you buy new motor mounts when you did your swap? maybe it's time for new ones

Onelow, I use '57 Chevy bellhouse and motor mounts.
The engine does not move much at all.
I dont have headers on the car, its got ramshorns.
Right now the pipes are completly unsupported all the way to behind the rear axle, where the mufflers are.
But I'm thinking about doing that tranny mount trick.
