Here's mine before and after ceramic coating.

 

On my '46 there's plenty of room to run the pipes under the axle.

 

Man there is something about your coupe that gets me going every time I see it.

 

2 1/2" stainless exhaust with chrome tips w/ SBC.

 

The hotrods I remember from the 50s and 60s had pipes straight out the back

 

That Mercury is awesome

 

Only one side on the De Soto.

Thanks Rusty, the biggest thing that I see is the stance and that the front wheels are tucked in the fenders unlike others that the tires are flush with the outer edge of the fender and that the rear tires are a little wider, others wise it's a stock looking coupe that needs paint. BigO

 

I ran mine out the back, but after trying to catch the road runner, it looked like this.

Getting 3" exhaust over a quickchange in a small coupe like this is damn near impossible. So I ran mine under the axle and up. Its full stainless, with 4" tips.

 

Makes a beautiful sound.

 

Banger motor with a header split into two pipes and short glasspacks running to the rear side by side. Cold weather and nightfall ended up with the tips not quite level. Hope to fix that during the viral shutdown. Small tips go just past the body. The duals on my 40 and 47 are standard chrome tips just past the bumper.

Both my cars have them exiting either through bumper or body. I can't stand pipes that point down and cause dust and debris problems for others. Hudson before and after pics of mods we are doing now to remove Mercury style lights and fit genuine Hudson ones.

Just past the bumper on my 47, and chromed turned down tips.

 

I love it, wish I had thought of that.
