    It's coming up to 50 years since an American car broke the world land speed record: October 23, 1970, Gary Gabelich drove The Blue Flame rocket car to a new mark of 622 mph. Here is Part Two of my three-part anniversary special on the Flame. In this installment I take a look at the design and fabrication of the car and the hiring of Gary Gabelich to drive it.

    I met Pete Farnsworth of their build team at all places, a Carousel (merry go round) convention. His wife is a carousel horse collector.
    We were both surprised to meet another motorhead at such a place.....
    Here's our landspeed car...It's nowhere near what his crew accomplished.

    Chaz your racer is beautiful! I sure the name was chosen long before now. How ever it is quite appropriate! These are strange days indeed.
