All this social distancing got me reminiscing about some good times last month. I took my recently completed 1931 Av8 roadster to its first outing last month. The event was 2nd annual Hot Rod Showdown in Wimberly, Tx. Its about a 8 hour drive from my house here in Louisiana. I ended up trailering the car to my buddys shop , the hot rod garage in Thorndale, Tx. Its about 90 miles from Wimberly. I really only put about 10-15 shakedown miles on the car. And had planned on just trailering the car the whole way there and putting around the show. The guys talked me into dropping the car on the ground and making the trip there in a caravan of bad ass hot rods. So after a quick once over on everything. We gassed up and headed the 90 miles towards Wimberly. Suprisingly the car made it there and back without a hiccup. I am glad they talked me into driving it. I mean thats what they are for right!? Put over 200 miles on the car on this trip. The show was amazing. The location, the people, the cars. It was all perfect. If you get a chance to go next year, you have to! The car got a lot of attention, which im really not used to. Glad to see other people liked what i had built. Even got called for an award at the end of the day. Red’s headers was given a pick for the show, and they chose my little av8 out of all the bad ass rides that were there. I was shocked, but very honored. And the trophy was kick ass! Anyway im not much of a story teller. Enjoy some pictures that i took.

First off, I don't know how you don't get much attention with that roadster! Awesome car! This does look like a show that I'll need to add to the list of "road trip shows" for the future. This place would be a dream come me... Old cars, buildings, cabins, and antique items. Thanks for posting. Sent from my moto x4 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
