No problem, thank you. I think I will stick with my method of a pin that slides from the kick panel into the door.

My method should work without a problem in your roadster door, as the solid Stainless Male Dovetail keeps the slider secure ( no wobble ) the only difference would be the method of supplying spring tension on the tail of the slider shaft. the best escutcheons are from 28-29 Std. Model A Door Locks

very clever--well done!! I had a 40 convert that the doors would fly open/unlatch on hard bumps--kinda scary.

A secure slide lock is absolutely necessary on a suicide door car. I built a set for my 3W back in '82 before the car was finished. Certainly offers a degree of comfort when being bounced around on our bumpy highways. Like your design, mine are mounted to the kick panel and slide into the door.

The late Larry Roller (3WLarry) made some unique safety latches for his interior in his '32 Ford using these aircraft locks. HRP

Those are kind of bulky , but you sure would remember to lockem , I have a buddy with a 32 three window , his doors have the pins down low on the door panel , got in trying to hurry and catch up to the group and forgot to engage the pin , made a mess of the door and B pillar

Pretty cool thread with some good ideas. Post up some more, I have mini bear latches for my plymouth, body came with out latches, but I'd still like to add locks. I like the idea of power, a person could use ford solenoids and install a hidden ****on outside to lock it up.

I neglected to commend you on a job well done when I posted back in September, they look like something that could have be done at the factory. HRP

Nice idea! In the 80s I was following a friend's 32 3 window on I-80 when the p***enger door opened. All steel car and it took the door, hinges, quarter and rear fender. She was just sick about it.
I have a nice aluminum based setup but haven't installed it yet. Still relying on the bear claws.
