what primer should I use?

    :confused: I called my local auto paint store & they asked me what kind of auto primer I wanted because theres 4 different types, Etching, apoxy,2k,& acrylic? What do you guys recommend? Keep in mind, I dont plan on my truck to be show quality,because I have a very tight budget,so the cheaper the better,if there is such a thing. Thanks!

    I think you have posted in the wrong place but i use epoxy then 2K on top.

    painting really works in layers, bare metal gets cleaned and you lay a etching primer, though most modern primers are self etching, then epoxy, then a filler or sandable primer, another coat of primer then paint if you get that far. if you are shooting it with stuff other than a can, gotta be sure to hit the flash times or do a good scuff in between for adhesion.
