Technical Can anyone show how they do the overlay cut & butt weld technique?

    I think it was only mentioned once , back there somewhere, that a large piece of sheet metal, such as you are going to use needs support, “ribs”. I have very little experience in body work, but have built tons of stuff in involving sheet metal. I would build my supports first, then choose which method to weld the panel in.

    Note sure if this relates to your post but this is how I did a set of wheel wells. Pieces were fab’d up with an overlap then scribed from underneath and cut to fit. [​IMG]
