Projects 1934 ford three window project

I am not familiar with that bracket either between the door post and package tray. The bracket is for the drain hose from the window pan.

 

Bracket is factory and, yes the clamp is for drain hose.

 

Did some fitting of the drivers side patch panels. A little more to do

Got the cowl I’m going to use back from the sand blaster and the skin around the cowl vent is much worse than I thought it was. I spent the day making a new panel to repair it.

I made a positive and negative die using metal and oak. Can only press a little of it at a time...I basically sat at the press for an hour taking small bites at it. I have a little more depth to get today and then do it all again for the interior drip channel. I’ll post some pictures of the die today.

Started some of the repairs on the cowl. Work stoppage on the vent, waiting for some metal to be delivered for the other die I’m going to make. Moved on to the cowl feet, got the first one spliced in.

I can recommend putting a large radius on the corners of that cowl panel. It will cut down on the warpage.

Got the metal I needed to make the cowl vent drip edge die and spent the last couple days refining it. Now I have nice clean metal to work with





Just have to transfer a few bits and pieces from the old vent

More work on the cowl vent. I decided to remake the body half of the hinge. I flattened the original hinge to use as a pattern.

Took the shell off the floor temporarily, then flipped the floor upside down and applied two coats of red oxide and seam sealer. Should get the body back on it permanently today.

Turned my attention to the rear corners. Made some pieces for the bottom of the corners and replaced the skin in the trunk jam.

Finished up the cowl vent and installed it in the cowl. I ended up making a new scupper drain, the old one looked pretty thin.
