New.. I got inspired by the '39 Buick, especially in the waterfall styling sense.. concept-worked to my idea of a sporty <2500lb. aluminium coupe. Girl was observed.. dudes, semi-stolen adaptations.

The famed, giant “Jackalope” Easter Bunny was one giant egg short for his deliveries this year…

    Hello,

“Happy Days” are here again…(pun intended) Easter Vacation is still a happy time for all of us old timers. We could not wait to get out of school for that 10 day vacation during the dreaded Spring months leading to the hot times in the Summer. Easter Vacation turned into Spring Break due to the significance of being a religious implication, in a non sectarian public school, with no ties to any religion.

So, Easter Vacation turned into Spring Break for thousands of kids wanting a long vacation before the last 2.5 months of school. For us, it was the beaches, parks, road trips with the family, and visiting relatives nearby.

Then as we got older, it was 8 days in Baja, Mexico for some cool waves and a little less parental supervision. Back then, if permission was not given, in written form, teens did get turned away at the border entrance. But, if we rolled in to the entry drive at 2:00 a.m. The guard was usually asleep. If we timed it right, the 3 hour plus drive down coast was empty and the guard was asleep between 1 and 2 a.m.

    Jnaki

Our mode of transportation was usually full of Easter candy, raided from our parents’ stash. That kept us going during the vacation. When we did not go to Baja, (or the surf trips lasted 4+ days…) the Easter Vacation cruises down to Newport/Balboa/Laguna Beach were epic drives. The memories of “teenage stares” and then some street action was on our menu for those drives.

Who could forget those cool times as a teen during Easter Vacation or Spring Break ?

For the current teenagers, sorry the national situation is hindering your current school year activities. We will all get our acts together and it will p***. Stay healthy and locked in place!

Have fun egg coloring and hunting…

Once again, some more of my old art work.
COLOR stuff is old T-shirt art for our clubs annual car show. Most of it is drawn 4-color so it could be digitized for silk screen or transfer.
BLACK & WHITE stuff for Junkyard News which I co-pulished in the '80s, Also some old car show flyer art.
CARTOONS from Street Rodder Magazine...was a Contributing Artist for them in the '70s. early '80s arc11.jpg 100_3558.jpg 100_4296.jpg

Spoggie, the pickup was a Rod & Custom Dream car of the Month feature in '04, as a slightly different version. No doubt others wondered what a no visor version of those would look like. I ran across the green one for sale in 2016 and thought it confirmed some of my idea.

Another project done for the Coupe. New guages, but the speedo hole was too big. What to do? Dashman had the perfect solution. Had to adjust the I.D. a bit and add a little IMG_2227.JPG engine turning, I think it came out OK.
