Just called Napa and Carquest and neither of them have rebuild kits for f-1's. No spring kits, no bags full of hardware, and no wheel cylinders. where does everyone get there brake rebuild stuff??
I got my cylinders from Kanters and also the springs. the shoes I got done locally at a clutch and shoe shop.
everything you need is at Napa...unfortunately , they also have something you don't need...unhelpfull parts guys that are too lazy to look it up in a book. if it's not on the computer , they can't find it they are 11" bendix brakes and where used for many years on many ford products...their computer just may not show all applications the Raybestos part # for the left front wheel cylinder is WC9090...same as napa UP9090 right front wheel cylinder is raybestos # WC9091...same as napa UP9091 brake shoes are raybestos 228PG....same as napa UPAE228 as for hold downs and springs , just bring your old ones along and match them up...that may require opening up a couple boxes and looking at them better bring all your parts in and match them up
can't wait to walk in there with the parts numbers. that outta make the guy feel like a lazy dumb ***. thanks boys, you guys are life savers.
i just purchased all new 48 ford brake parts, all came from napa. i don't have the numbers. i paid somewhere around $650 canadian for shoes, drums, wheel cylinders, bearings, seals.
What did they charge you for the drums? I'd appreciate it if you'd PM me the part numbers for the drums, as all I can get from Napa is dumb looks. 36-3window, are those wheel cylinder numbers for the stepped ones or the straight ones? Flatman (Love that Wonder Warthog avatar )
