Cause you can. And there *****in.[IMG] With some work you can use the internals from a System 1. You'll need a Offy adapter also.

Old style filters that used a roll of toilet paper as the collecting element.

Thanks! I'm guessing they are cheaper than those beehive filters from Speedway.

Get you the tall System 1 replacement element from Jegs, Summit or ebay. Once you have it in your hands you'll see what needs to be done. There are ribs in the lid of the Stilko, you'll have to carefully knock them down with a grinder. Then the plastic insert that holds the Sys. 1 screen in place will have to have the top portion removed and beveled in a little bit to aid in oil flow and so they'll fit inside the Stilko hsg. You'll also want to use the Stilko screens at the top and bottom. If you find a whole System 1 on ebay as I did, you can then make a cap for it and use it as your overflow. I blasted the black coating off, added a br*** site gl***, pet****, and SS ******. Here is a pic of the System 1. Yes the Stilko's are a whole lot less than the beehives. Swaps and ebay.

Wanna let one of them go? wink-wink

This is a great idea of mixing and matching parts to achive a good result. Techomatic material in my book, or at least printed and filed.

The ones I have came from sears. I think each one has a different fitting size but the canister is the same. I'll bet the part numbers are the same- sears-stilco. I'll dig them out and look at the numbers. maybe one of us can locate an application list to see what they were supposed to fit. Then maybe I can trade them to youse Texans for some fantastic old useless **** that will make me happy. I'll get back to you. overspray

I have one of the system one filters and am about to do the conversion. On the plastic insert inside the system one filter it looks like in the picture you removed some plastic from the top side, on the other side did you cut the center out or just remove it completely since it is a solid piece?

Does anyone know if this can be done on the SHORT Stilko?

I have a NOS one with the orginal box and wrench, and the original Toiletpaper insert, and want to get it going on my motor. Just heard about this changeover.

Good, you brought up a 3+ year old thread to talk, in poor sentence structure, about an off topic car

Do you want to sell the short stilko unit. I believe it will work on my ford focus
car better than a larger one.

    Thank You

Bringing this one up from the dead. I bought a Stilko at LARS. If any HAMBers out there need the guts of this Stilko let me know. Free parts if you pay shipping. I gutted this one to make a cover for my quad 4 filter that stickes out like an orange hard on. I have the two screens, center tube, and the end fitting (?).
These parts are junk to me.

Got my machinist to spin up a cap with a thread. Found a 318 Chrysler remote filter , tried to disguise the new push lock fittings some what. Have been looking for another stilko lately ,still looking.
