I have now loaded MOST of the factory Carter service do***ents on my website. These are the generic instructions by carburetor type (i.e. W-1, WCFB, AFB, Solid fuel Thermoquad, etc.).

Some of the later do***ents are large (in Adobe pdf format), and will take several seconds to load; BE PATIENT!

And while all of these do***ents were copyrighted, I have written authority from the Carter Carburetor Company to copy them.

Still looking for the do***ents for the AVS (maybe Carter didn't figure the AVS was worth servicing [IMG] )

    Here is the link: http://www.thecarburetorshop.com/Carter_service.htm

Thanks for that, the Carter W1 information should provide me with some light reading over the next few weeks.

Jon, thanks for thinking of us. But when I clicked on the BBD links, one of them said 'failed' the other said the file had been moved and my laptop started opening tabs for the download. I stopped it and restarted the computor at about 74 tabs.

Ken - don't know why. Before I switched from IE to Google Chrome, I occasionally had that issue. Not saying that is what it is, don't know; but have never had it since switching to Google.

I just checked the links, and both work the way they are supposed to work.

    You might try it again???

Clicked on the BBD link, Stopped it after the 36th new tab. Errors say missing, moved etc, lots of different things. Didn't try any other links. FWIW, I'm using Firefox 75.

Edit to add: opened your site with Edge. Both bbd pdf's open fine when loaded using edge. Looks like it may be a case of Google Chrome and Firefox not playing nice together.

OK - glad you were able to get the data. I often wonder if my computer works for me, or if I work for the computer!

Thanks, Jon. I am just getting started on a WCFB rebuild and this should come in handy.

Just to followup on this. Apparently a Firefox issue. Some have reported similar using Chrome. In my case I did a Firefox refresh and all is well.
