"TagMan" seemed a natural name for me when I joined The HAMB. I had started looking for a pair of 1937 license plates for my '37 Chevy coupe back in 1983. I found lots of plates before I found the 37's and by that time, I was a collector. Before too many years had passed, I had over 3000 plates and was selling them in Hemmings, one of the first people dealing in plates in that mag. It supported my car habit for quite a while, but I sold them all off after I retired - didn't have time to both sell and play !

This old beater truck has a lot to do with it. I had just opened an Email with mr48Chev @ not long before I joined the HAMB and decided not to use Chopt 48 that I used on some other boards.
I've owned the truck since I bought it as a 75.00 running and driving beater in early 1973 and worked my butt off to have it ready to go to the Street Rod Nationals in In Tulsa where the two high points of the weekend were being in the Saturday night dinner line with Tex Smith and getting to listen to an hour or so if his stories and walking back to the truck once and finding a high school kid getting his photo taken beside the truck. He had one similar at home that he told me about. Made my day. Little in snow-XL y.jpg

  8. Well since the car is a 56 Chevy and named "Miss Taboo" seemed pretty straight forward. Although I only use that name on this board. My other user name I use everywhere from youtube, instagram, xbox, etc... is CAMAROBOY68SS, since I typically more associated with my O/T Camaro that Ive had since I was 8 years old. So if you have ever looked for videos or pictures of Taboo outside of the HAMB, you will probably see that username.

  9. The real story is this was the first online site I ever signed up for. Never had a clue you could make up a user name.
I probably would have used Turd Ferguson or Rusty McNuggets.

Well my name is Scott Talley and I have been called Scotty T all my life but that one was taken [emoji6]. So.....since I had the 31 roadster I picked 31hotrodguy which is kinda funny since I’ve never actually posted anything on the roadster. Lol

  12. Well, when I joined here I had just bought my first real old car, a ‘37 Plymouth coupe, and I was hell bent on turning it into a hotrod. Never finished that project and eventually sold it on. Now I no longer own anything from 1937, but it’s still a reminder of where I started.

My name is Kristopher so when That 70s Show came out everyone has been Topher ever since, and 5150 because I'm an Eddie VanHalen fan.

  20. I played in a "house band" at a bar back in the early '70s. My nickname is "Dusty" but the barmaid kept calling me "Rusty". After correcting her a few times, she settled for "Rustydusty". It would also describe a few cars I've owned...

  21. Warhorseracing is my E-Mail name for Juno that I started using back in the mid 1990's. It is also the name of my Race team from my active Drag Racing days back in the 90's. I derived it from drag racing Fox Bodied Mustangs. Best run in my last car which was a 1981 LX Coupe was 8:86 at 164 MPH in Maple Grove with Billy Laskowski driving it. We were told immediately to put it on the trailer and leave it there as it is only legal for 150. I ran it for a few years as a Comp Eliminator on a 9:00 Index and it was a consistent 149 MPH at the old National Trails.

This is the highest Title that I will hold in life as I have no biological children ( that I'm aware of) and am extremely proud of my nieces and nephews.

Mine came from the star the southern cross. It was the name of the LLC we started for our race team and the number is my old NHRA number.

  28. Drove a Studebaker truck to high school in the early seventies.....and of note my brother and Stevie Ray rode in his 1962 Lark before that - to the alternative school as SRV just lived a block over........anyways my HS friends always asked after HS - is the Stude still running.....as often I'd be in some other old shit...I'd reply yes.....think I registered the business name about 1982.........mostly drove 10 - 20 - 30 year old stuff up until about 1998 when I bought a 4 year old truck...........still haven't bought a new car/truck yet........maybe one day...........Lawrence

My last name is Mann and I’m the little brother....so I always heard “what’s up little mann” growing up.

Even better is my first name is Ben....still have people ask me “how ya been man” and I smile real big at them until they get it...awkward!
