RPM's under 6K, is the M-10 the right choice or is something better out there? SBC/350.

    Thanks.

  3. I believe the Melling part number for the Small Block Chevrolet oil pump is a M-55. I’m a firm believer in the stock Chevrolet oil pump. Personally, I think the high volume one delivers too much oil, and the high pressure one is unnecessary if your bearing clearances are correct. I realize that there have been some mention on here about the quality of Melling pumps, but they are still my first choice. I always open up every oil pump I install for inspection and to pack it with Lubiplate 105 engine ***embly lube for easier priming.

  4. Yeah,,,,SBC is M55 .
    BBM is M 63
Flathead is M15 or M19 whichever volume you use .
About all I know off top of my head .

Here are a few pics I have of a Melling pump I own,,,,the pump still has the metal tag on it for an identifier.

There is the "early M-55" and the "late M-55"; the late was made more lightweight for cost cutting measures, and proven to be a bad decision. I thought they changed that? I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
