If you get it I recommend you take the P&S box apart and inspect the gears. Mine had chipped scroll teeth. Not uncommon. I think they advise that you do not turn the steering wheel with the car at rest as damage to the box can - and did - occur. Rebuild kits are available.

  6. Before Howard Kaye built the car I already posted he ran this one at the grove. He did not build this. The car previously posted was replacing this one. 20200418_103640.jpg 20200418_103626.jpg 20200418_103613.jpg 20200418_103548.jpg

FB_IMG_1587480695726.jpg this I think is Virgel Cates. I remember watching him run when I was a kid at Drag way42 . He ran gas class then pulled the front end off to run altered class.

This car was raced by members of one of two California car clubs by the name of Alky Haulers. Seen here at Pomona this car was from the San Fernando Valley based group who were centered in Alhambra while the others were from the San Gabriel Valley. The SFV club was formed in the late 40's and was active through the 60's.

Good old M&H when they first started arriving on the scene used to do that all the time. My first pair of real slicks were M&H and they did that on a D/S OT a bit 67 Mustang 390 with screws in the beads trick. :)

  24. They will Mark, but they need to be down around 5-6 lbs. on a real narrow rim to get that much wrinkle. We tried it, but we got the same result on the ET as we did at 8lbs. Plus the car was a lot more stable at the big end.
