Anyone use the scarebird disc conversion on their 55/56? The price is making me really want some input. Notice any difference over the drums? Would be a good quarantine project haha

  2. A good place to research or ask would be squarebirds.org good people and they may know.

Scarebird has a good rep and I regret not using his parts on my swap. I went with someone else and the quality of the kit fabricated parts was poor. For $200 I think you get a lot.

I looked into a lot of fabrication parts, partial kits, and completes. Their reputation is very good if you don’t mind the legwork and find parts. Can’t remember the name of the place in South Carolina I also liked. A little expensive but I went with Wilwood because I was going to use no power. Sorry but that fawking can is all I see when a hood is open.
Wilwood has 4 or 6 piston not like a single and a floater. I have larger than stock rear drums and with the correct master cylinder sizing you can get a nice pedal. I used Wilwoods m/c also and a Mustang pedal rod. On my 56 every was a bolt on and 2 short lines down to the prop valve and a 3/16” flare fitting plug.
Everything went as planned with exception of minor leaks. I tightened everything but needed more. My wife pushed on the pedal and I checked everything twice.
At 74 when I did it I did not want to hunt for anything. One big box from Summit. Sorry tried to load photos. Good luck.

I think alot of the "use the search" guys are just talking out their ***. I highly doubt they really know anything about the subject. This is the main reason I hardly ever use the main board.

In the process of putting them on. So far the quality seems good.

He used to post a shopping list with his bracket kits. But he gives out a detailed parts list. I think you will do okay with him.
