Projects nastiest model A part ever dragged home

this is the nastiest model a part I have every dragged home... I see both halves of the 6 hinges and ………….. . was a '30-'31 truck cab... must have been working somewhere near salt water... anyone brought home worse ?

Well after you salvage & save all the good stuff I guess you can just scll the rest for s**** to get a dollar or two for your time invested. Or from your last photo are you mocking up the build with the placement of the 4 tires & wheels? Good luck, Jimmie

 

Let me be the first to say...it'll buff out.

That's a rough start and will take some vision and perseverance to see that one through.

 

Have chopped up some real rough stuff, but I don't know if I can compete with that one. Although I too would have grabbed it for the hinges if I'd been offered, and looks like there might be a dash rail left too, not that they're hard to find. Hinges are a good score.

 

You did your shots in order before touching that?

I know a couple people thru the years that bought AA rear ends. They both died before cashing them in.

 

the 4 wheel pile is not mine... but I can see how they could be confused...

 

One time I flipped the remains of a '30-'31 Tudor (butchered into a truck) on it's galvanized tin roof and actually DRUG it home for two block behind my car. Kinda noisy, the neighbor thought it was funny. Salvaged the shortened; but surprising good sub-rails; guy that gave it to me got the tank and hinges. and if I remember right the guy he got from took the doors. I suppose now-a-days the firewall, door posts, etc would be saved.

 

One I found, and thought it was bad. But you win!

Well, the dash and the tank might be good.

And – if you get a Model A book and pick a year for when the serial numbers you want were used – pick one. Chances are there's not that number registered in your state after 90 years. Harbor Freight has the number punches – just try to line them up kinda nice.

 

That beats anything I drug home to cut a part out of it. I've drug plenty rough stuff home to get one part off it in the past 57 years since I was 16 with my first car though.

 

The question I have is, why would anyone drag something worse than that anywhere?
