Now that I have my 29 on the road. I know why Henry went to radiator covers (grills). Cleaning the bugs off the radiator is a nightmare

What is the best method of cleaning off the radiator.

Take an old newspaper and soak it untill it sticks to the radiator. soak as needed. Let sit for a while, then take an old paint brush or the likes and they should brush off easily. If not, blast from the back. Then GET A BUG
SCREEN. And if you drive with the windshield down, don,t smile while driving.

I use a stiff toothbrush. Fits easily in the tool box. Doesn't seem to make a whole lot of difference if the bugs are fresh or dry. But I do get them off before I wash with water.

something we did years ago and i still do on a few a radiators. Go to the hardware and buy some of thier black screen pull the shell off and cut a piece of the screen to fit inside the front of the shell. I usually hold it to the shell with some black or clear silicone. reinstall the shell on the radiator making sure the screen is flat. After the silicone sets up drive the shit outta it and just spray the shell and screen with the hose and the bugs come right off.:):):)

I have a brush that my dad gave me that came from a radiator shop. It has a plastic case and the brush is a buch of small diameter plastic bristles that you push out from the end. The stiffness of he bristles depend on how far you push them out. I simply brush this back and forth over the bugs and it takes them off effortlessly. I have no clue how old this is. Dad just took it out of his tool box one day I was over and told me I was going to need this. He was right again. By the looks of this thing most people would throw it away but it is invaluable to people like us. If I can remember I will post a picture of it if I can remember to bring it in tomorrow.

Shake up a bottle of Coke and thumb-spray the rad. Best bug solvent made!

Wasps, find a nesting site and park near 'em. they'll pick the rad clean.

I'm proud as shit of my bugs. Ain't but one way to get 'em...that I know of.

They are even harder to get out with a grill in the way.
