Hot Rods Racing at George Ray's who's interested

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by racer-x, Oct 22, 2018.

  1. I have been unable to get ahold of Tyler for three month. I have left many messages. There has been zero contact. I can't tell you if there will even be a race. I'm not driving the nine hours to find out.

I'd be really surprised if this is still happening.

    Sorry.

  3. Sadly, I’ve been wondering the same thing. Shit! I really wanted to come and meet a bunch of you guys.

Good communications between a track owner and promoter is THE most important. This is inexcusable and a bad omen even in these uncertain times.

  7. so true. im going to start looking for another small southern track.

  8. The Arkansas governor hasn't declared drag strips essential. I doubt the track will be permitted to open.

Yeah... this!! Our Governator is about to loose the hounds, so this should be a possibility with some social distancing allowances in place.

I’m in I need plenty of notice cause it’s a helluva long drive for me to get there not sure I can make the 3 mile drive in one whole day lol

  12. They already have the hamb drags and it's a bigger track. Dyersburg Tennessee might work. Nothing will ever match George Ray's.

  13. I wouldn't give up on George Ray's dragstrip. All through the years it seems to find a way to survive. I hope things will improve soon. I hope this isn't the end.

  14. The grandson is into the popular big tire and little tire shootouts. He knows nothing about nostalgia racing and how popular it is. It's a shame because it's the perfect environment for our kind of racing.

  15. I agree. The atmosphere last year was amazing. It was a time warp. We had a wonderful time even with the rain.
