Went to a swap meet a couple of weeks ago and found this sweet little stainless item, thought that it would be a reall cool air cleaner..... Took an old velocity stack w/o the lid and some 1/4-20 threaded rod and POOF, Instant air cleaner! Well, the lid was actually at this ladys booth that was selling old kitchen stuff and this was (in it's former life) a cake or doughnut cover that sat on the kitchen counter...... What 'cha think???
That looks alot like the chrome helmet air cleaner Mooneyes sells for 85 bucks only not as cool since it doesnt have the ridges on it lol. Great job and good eye I love seeing stuff like that But it usually scares the wives and girlfriends and they keep an eye on you when you enter the kitchen...

Oh, You gotta let air in there some how??? There is plenty of clearance between the bottom of the lid and the velocity stack. I can stick my finger up between the cover and filter.... My wife & I and Murray & spouse are heading up Friday AM. We already made plans for dinner Friday night with some other people, so we won't be able to partake of the smoker's content. We'll stop by Friday and cause some trouble, in any event !!
