Damn, I just got out of work and saw this thread. You may have heard that Sidney, NY got flooded and the plant I work at got 4 feet of water . We have half of the 1500 people that work there on at 12 hr shift morning and night for the next foreseable future, sweeping with shop vacs and starting to determine the total damage. I have been there an average of 14 hrs per day, and may not be able to go to Syracuse after all. All things considered, no one got hurt at the facility and corporate tells us they will fix the damage, good news for all that need a paycheck. Anyway I hope the cleanup progresses fast and I'll get some time off for good behaviour, I'll need a couple of cold ones by then.

Sounds like you need a vacation more then any of the rest of us. Do what you can to attend. I was really, really looking forward to seeing you again since we missed each other at the Jalopy Showdown. Stay safe and hope to see you next weekend.

Speaking of rain and flooding, how does the weather look for the Syarcuse area for next weekend??

    bump! for the weekend crew!

  6. I-690 east to Genesee St exit, turn left, go to second light, turn left, it's a short block up and you should be able to see it from the corner. I forget what street it is but you can duck to the left just past the first light up a street that comes in at a sharp angle and that comes out right on the corner where the Dinosaur is. Parking is on the street.

Just be aware if it's too busy or you don't want to wait, the bar on the other end of the block is one of those places you don't want to bend over in.

Clark's Ale House, down Clinton opposite Armory Square, is also a pretty good place to go -

Our spots are right along the entrance road....4:00am wakeup call with open exhaust and the whine of blowers (is there a better kinda wakeup call???)

BTW, I was thinking today - have you heard from Moon Disc lately?? Haven't seen him on HAMB in a loooong time.

    I haven't been posting either.
Feel like a poser. My Model A project is collecting dust, while I let other things get in the way.
I'll make the meet at 11 if I can get one of the young guys to remind my old****!
When you drive in the gate, the last stop sign you come to before the**********top parking area, if you turn right the horse barns will be on your left. On the right is a bunch of $500,000 motorhomes.
A short way down is an old Winnebago with spotlights and a checkered flag awning. Sticks out like a sore thumb.
Dat's mine. Everyones invited to stop by.
BTW, does anyone know if Dirty got tail lights for his A?
If not I'll have to stand guard over my old ladies again this year!

Denise, I'll make a deal with you..... Friday night dinner for some of your cookies..... :) ( I know, your not bringing any...)

  19. Ever since they added a new road in the back, for most events they make you go in gate 6 or 7 and around. Which for those meeting at the train, is the fastest and easiest way to go - just follow the road around behind the grandstand and there you are. I haven't been to the Nationals in a couple years, so I don't know how they handle it for this event -

Ill be there too (cant remember if I said so- havent slept more than 4 hrs in almost 3 months!) the 49 Pickup is FINALLY painted and outa the shop- being put togethre as we speak at Tucci's.Dave Tucci is a really nice guy-glad I got to work with him.

Ill have a booth there- (next to Tucci's) would be cool if HAMBERS stopped by- me and THECHICK will both be there with the littleCHOP - our 8 yr old Nathan- who has a 32 Ford roadster go kart.

  22. Don't know if this applies to anyone here - most likely, not - but the Sherrifs has the TV stations putting out the word, they'll crack down on people doing burnouts off the fairgrounds - they say that if you do it, plan on a ticket. If you bleach up the tires, they'll probably nail you for littering or polluting, too. I guess they got pissed after having to close a major intersection over by some of the hotels last year and have the fire department hose off the street.

I'm not so sure what's impressive about a street burnout anyways, I can make my beater Suburban spin the tires if I hit the gas hard enough, and it's a**************.

Anyhow, y'all that need to be, have been warned -

The story was last year that some people were doing burnouts on a side street and a female rookie cop decided to pull her car in front of them to stop the action and got T boned. Everybody was OK but they said then they would crack down on it despite rumors they were shutting down streets to allow it....that was an urban myth!

So that side street between the Holiday Inn host hotel and that office building will be closed to burnouts ya think?? Watching those was always one of the highlites of the Syracuse show.

After reading all the directions on who is gonna be parked where and how to get there from the entrances etc, it sounds like entrances are not where I remember. Oh well, we'll work it out.

If you see me cruzn around in a daze, hollar at me, I'll stop.:D

    Well work something out bud!;)
We'll stop by for sure but not sure yet whether we'll stay for a meal. I'm gonna bring my Dad over, he wants to check out your car.

  29. I haven't been since '84 and they've obviously changed the date.
    When is it?
I may have to plan a car hauling trip.

    This weekend bud;)

It's not the NSRA show as in years past. It's put on by a group called the "Right Coast something or another". I think it's about 5 or 6 years with this event organizer.
