The local s****yard has a Plymouth beside the scales. The guy has a soft spot for the old ones, so he sets them aside for awhile until ....... it’s time. I’ve seen it from the highway about 200 yards. All I can tell is it’s a 40s Tudor sedan. It can be had for s**** price. I have no affiliation with the yard but if someone is interested, really interested, I could swing by and get some photos. The car is about 20 miles North of Birmingham Al.

That picture is pretty small, but it doesn't look like a Plymouth to me. The Dodge fender lines carried farther into the doors where the Plymouth fender lines ended at the front edge of the doors. Although, the front end doesn't look right, maybe that is a GM car? Gene

Yep, that's a 1940 Plymouth, would be a shame to see it go to Valhalla, there are better ones around no doubt but its been able to avoid the crushers for 80 yrs and is still good rodding or resto material or even as a parts source.......I'd be happy with the fenders & hood for spares but its a bit far to post them to me here in Oz.....all Oz 1940/41 mopars were based on the 1940 Plymouth.....my 1940 Dodge uses the fenders, hood, head & taillights & bumpers..........surely its worth more than its s**** value?.........andyd

Sure have. But dang, I just got rid of some and still look like Sanford and Son in the back yard. I do see that with a chop. A little more in the back. Would take some work but laying the rear deck area down to match the new roof slope would be a must.
What is Alabama's requirements for ***ling a project like that. There always seems to be a dozen threads about some forgot old girl in the woods or behind the barn or where ever. And then there is a dozen threads on how to get a ***le or registration. Would hate to see the old girl get crushed either and wish the powers that be would just understand that we are trying to save a piece of history. hope someone can use all or part of her. Larry
My bus came from a Bama s**** yard. They gave me a bill of sale. Got it notarized, then got an officer to verify the vin. Took the bill of sale and vin verification to the dmv. Done
Well that's sounds as easy as it can get. Wisconsin requires a bonded ***le. Not a terrible process either , but more often than not people try getting one some other way. So Alabama is easy, no reason for that old girl to end up as recycled China steel, Someone get down there and save her!
what's the matter with china steel? there'd only be about half of the 32 fords on the road today if it wasn't for that steel.

Just a "Heads Up" in case anyone is interested. Harry's U-Pull-It has a 1941, and a 1950 Plymouth in their inventory. I'm not ***ociated with them in any way, but I did notice these vehicles in their inventory. Maybe someone here will be interested. The car has some rust out as some of the pictures show. It will need new floors. It will need new door bottoms. It will need rockers. Core support and front cross member needs repair. As far as I can tell the frame looks sound other than that front crossmemember (typical of Mopars of this era).
