So in doing all the Spring tuneup work I set down the bolt that holds on the lid to the oil filter canister. And Lord knows where it got off to! Can anyone please tell me, size/length/thread so I can go pick one up at Fastenal today. It's the last thing keeping me from driving these nice warm days we suddenly got.
    Thanks

  4. This is happening far to often lately. Must be Covid19 self isolation syndrome. I’m having to call the Manager, (Mrs. G.) into the shop to find stuff that I’ve put is a safe place lately. You are not alone, Hope you find it.

It's a common disease that we suffer as we age it's know as CRS. If I don't put things were I can find them easily, they have a habit of disappearing. Good luck in your search.

Don't worry too much, they normally re-appear after you have purchased or sourced a replacement :D

Doug came through like a champ! Two day air mailed me a spare bolt he had and now we're up and running again. Which probably means I'll find the original bolt when I get home from a test drive after dinner, right?
On the plus side, for anyone who ever wants to know, since I spec'd out Doug's bolt, the proper size is:
    7/16-20 UNF and 1-1/4" long.
Hopefully this thread will be found by anyone else in my predicament in the future.
