What would the Bronze 2DH Fury have had for an engine?

Pretty safe bet it was a poly head 318. 361 engines were available but the car should have Golden Commando Power front fender emblems if it came with a 361, which don't appear to have ever been there. Slant 6 would be unusual for a high-end Fury but not impossible.

The dual-quad 409 wagon is really unbelievable, and so complete! I really need to know that the car is somewhere safe, perhaps restored, but at least not covered in leaves and sunk in the dirt anymore.

  10. Could have been a slant six or V8.

  11. Plymouth had no external badges that year to determine V8 or not inside.

They absolutely did. Big block cars with single carb got this one.

Dual quad "ram induction" cars got this one.

  16. No V8 emblems of any kind makes me skeptical that it was a real 409 car from the factory.

409, dual quad, 4spd, Station Wagon. Missing the air cleaner and gas pedal. Geesus somebody had there way with the check boxes on the order form; before "packages" Looks like Mallory tach and added amp gauge and tach box on the left inner fender.

Its hard to tell, but it looks like there is a lighter spot in the paint on the front fender where the V8 409 emblem used to be. The car has a floor shift steering column that matches the rest of the car. Looks pretty legit.

Looks like it was someone's hot rod that blew up the clutch or broke the trans and couldn't afford to put in a new one.
The 6 cylinder 3 speed could have had the floor shift. Who knows what has been in that car's history, lots of stuff could have been changed since it left the factory. Gene

Wagon must have been a helluva Sleeper for sure, roof rack and all.
Has a tow hitch, I'm wondering if it was someone's tow rig for their 1/4 miler or boat?
Restored up, it would be the ultimate tow rig for someone trailering their restored 409 to a show or nostalgia drags!!!

  23. All you need is either the data tag or maybe the vin might have the engine code. I not completely familiar with Chevy vins.

  24. That 409 wagon was posted on another site - surrounded by a lot of OT big block cars...coming to the bay soon !

WOW!!!!! Definitely appears like it's a factory original dual quad 409 4 speed car. The radiator looks to be the thicker heavy duty one, too.

Here are several cars I looked at this week. They all came out of the woods and are being sold as parts cars. None are really viable builders but they all have some parts to give.

This one has a Hemi in it, might be sold already, not sure.
