A crank mounted marine pump would be about the cheapest, and you can get these from Jabsco. You'll have to adapt it to the crank balancer. A belt driven marine pump would also work, but there more $$.
An electric inline like the CSR units would be the eaiest I think, but more coin. Summit has these.

I just spoke to **** Holt (to see if he is willing to ship one to magnuswarhawks) and says he only has unpolished left, no polished ones are left. Although he is talking about another batch. He said Tommy Ivo bought 4 of them.

I'd like to sign up for an early Olds front cover.
    f.i. type would be OK.
...or...WTF...a used one would be cool too!

Since he's got these under his belt, any chance he could do up a run of Nailhead valve covers?

First time I talked to him , he did say it was a possibility, but don't hold your breath. And "no way" for any intake manifolds (to labor intensive).

hey, just talked to **** Holt. Really nice guy. Told me today that the weiand front covers are actually for 322 and 364, not the larger sized engines. Purchased for $275 plus $7 for shipping. Polished. Think he still has polished left as I ordered mine beginning of october. His number is already on here, but here it is again:
714-429-0250. His hours are 8am-4pm (PST).

For those who are interested, I'm planning on running an electric water pump and an electric fuel pump along with a remote mounted alternator. Not running alcohol.

    Uhhh wouldn't that be 322 and 264?

No. 322 and 364. He was worried I was going to run a 401-425, and when I told him, "'61 364", he said then it will fit. If you're ordering one, I guess you could double check, but I do mean 322 and 364.

My understanding has always been that the timing cover mounting holes on the nailheads are all the same; a timing cover from a 264/322 will physically bolt onto the 364 and 401. The late 364s will interchange with the 401s as a direct swap.
What is typically different is the water pump mounting boss, and the fuel pumps. However, knowing that, I have an aluminum 401 timing cover to put on my 322, and will run the 401 water pump and fuel pump.
I have not, however, physically checked these myself. I need to, though...

Well then it will fit the 264 if it fits the 322, and if it fits the 364 it will fit the 401/425. I have a 425 cover and pump on my 364. Though usually when grouped together the 264/322 is one family, the 401/425 is another. The 364 stand alone but has the bellhousing pattern of the 401/425.

So it seems that someone needs to figure out what they're making it for. Of course Moon lists their valve covers for only the 401/425. maybe it's just ignorance of the Nailhead.

"The only parts that interchange from the first nailhead to the last are: distributors, rockers and shafts, valve covers, rod bearings, rod bolts and nuts, valvesprings, locks, retainers, and guides."

Russ told me it was for the 401,425 cid.. He is the one who sent the original cover to **** for repoping this part. Is this correct??? Maybe I should bolt that ****er on to make sure.

My experience is that you can use a cover from a 401/425 on a 364 and vice versa as long as the proper water pump for the cover is there. Wasn't sure that you could use them on a 264/322, but it seems as though you may. If Russ said it's for a 401/425 then I'd believe him...

sorry, just repeating what **** holt told me. seems like either I misheard him or he is mistaken. now that i think of it, they were originally replicated for tommy ivo who ran 401-454. as far as I know he never ran 322's. Anyone in vegas who wants to borrow mine for mockup purposes for their nailhead, shoot me a pm.

I'm also interested in getting one for my 401. Has anyone checked to see if he is still making these?

Reviving this thread, as I'm in the process of casting this Nailhead timing cover. Should be available in six to eight weeks. It's a faithful reproduction of the "Say Why-And" casting. Let me know if you're interested and I'll post details. Thanks! 20190714_205543.jpg

What about these earlier covers?? Don't get excited about the pattern, its an original cover and since the engines are for display, shrinkage was of no concern 100_0500.JPG
