hey guys, im looking for the stock wheel dimensions for a 1957 Lincoln premiere, I know they are 15s, can someone please let me know the correct backspacing and are they 5x5 lug pattern. thank you for your help
From the web: (1956 and 1957 have the same mechanical specs) Standard tire size for 1957 Lincoln Premiere Landau 4-Door Hardtop: (in case of different tires in front and rear the dimensional data are valid for driving or rear wheels) Standard tire size: 8.00 - 15 Tire width (mm): 203 Tire sidewall factor: 90 Rim size (in): 15 Total wheel diameter (mm / in): 746 / 29.4
That may well be true. However, can you verify that 5.5” number? The reason I am asking for information to support that dimension is the fact that Mercury, beginning in ‘55, adopted the 5x5” bolt pattern and continued it for several years thereafter. Edsel Corsair and Citation, which were Mercury based, also used the 5x5” pattern in ‘58/‘59. Full size Ford, Mercury and Lincoln’s also used 5x5” in the ‘70’s. None of that precludes Lincoln from having been 5x5.5” in ‘56/‘57, but causes me to wonder. Ray
I have a 57 sitting 25 feet away from me right now, Don't know the backspace because it has aftermarket wheels.
