Been working on my 56 finally after almost 20 years of sitting. I have gotten so much info from this forum/group really giving me motivation on it. I’ve asked a few member questions everyone been helpful. Motor and ****** going in tomorrow or Sunday! It’s all ready! Got front end torn apart and at powder coating already test fit engine n ****** with different mounts and now tomorrow it will be 1. Here are some pics.. When I go to ***emble the front end and press bushings in is there a parts bread down book/manual I can double check n make sure it’s going together right direction? I have other things on car I’d like too look at also when re ***embling.. here are some progress pics

Is the floor shifter going to clear the front seat?

Right, racing is canceled so race car can sit and money n time can go towards getting my car back together. I’m enjoying it and glad I dug in.

Looks like it will. I mocked it up with 2 different motor mounts 2220/2221 didn’t fit the oil pan the fox body mounts moved it up and forward fits good. Looks like shifter hole gonna be right in front of seat, I’ll use a forward style shifter arm.

Nice work. My major regret with my car was not do***enting things as they came apart. I only had a good camera late in the build. And whatever you bag up, mark the bag accordingly. You should have a shop manual, they are available on eBay and handy. One of the members, Dan, has a good CD that will help anyone.

yea I took pic of the way the bushing where pressed in or direction I guess I should say but I question some of it especially the upper control arm, so I was wondering about parts break down or a manual. What’s dans name on here? Yea everything is bagged n tagged, and in boxes.

Progress! Got front end bushings and ball joints put together ***embled with areostar springs.. came out great.. test fitting headers.. got the 1 wire ford alt.. looks good. I think I might change the dust covers for ball joints from factory style to after market energy ones. The upper one I don’t understand the 3 washers n felt they seem out of order way it came. I might just get poly ones.

Had to get a peek at how she looks on the ground with Granada spindles with aero star springs. Not bad at all. I might need new leafs outback, the shackles are flipped right now and its only maybe couple inches high right now. We will see how that plays out. Was hoping to set it right and run it for now upgrade later. Funds are getting tight. Got clutch hooked up and brake lines ran, brakes in.. mile stone 1..

My 55 dropped a bit more after I installed the entire front end sheet metal, bumper, gravel pan, etc. I have the Aerostar springs as well but I run a Y Block so I would my entire front end weight is a little heavier than what yours will be. I ended up adding a 1" hard rubber coil spacer (up into the frame cavity) and now I really like the ride!

i put in a 5/8 spacer, I suspect after it settles and all the front clip on it it’ll be couple inches lower. Pretty happy with it, and the clutch pedal setup.

Did you still have to slot the mounting pad on the crossmember when you used thenFox body mounts?

The reason we started advising the slots almost ten years ago is because we started finding out that the mount pads on the cross member in many cases were slightly off from the factory and this allows room for adjustment. On my '54 I only had to elongate one hole about a 1/4 inch on the p***enger side some members did no modifications but if you do the slots you won't have to do it later if they don't line up and pull the engine out of the way,so as Clint Eastwood said "Do you feel Lucky ?"
