    Guys

Need to figure out the ohm rating of a 1949 I.H. KB-2 fuel level sending unit.

1950 & up is the common Ford/Mopar 73-10 ohm, but I cannot seem to find out what the 41-49 is.

The old sending unit is junk and there is no wiring in the truck currently, so trying universal sending units is out. Plus he is not using the original tank, so it has to use a 5-bolt universal and not an original 6-bolt sending unit.

Using the original gauge and sticking with the 6v positive ground.

Was hoping to ****on this up so the cab can go back on.

    Thanks for the link!!

I will have to build one of those.

It will probably go in the drawer with the other one-time-use tools I already have...

I would make a large a knob as possible that will make it easier to control the rate at which the Ohms rise and lower. I just tried this with good results.

I ordered in a 500 ohm 10-turn pot for just that reason.

    Thanks for the input.
