I think that is for this year. In 2007 the Friday is the 10th, that is usually the inspection date. If they follow true to the last few years the dates would be 11-19 with inspection on the 10th. Looking to see if anyone knows for sure. BB

while we are on the subject of speedweek and dates... what day should i show up to spectate? I plan on being there for four or five days but not sure what should be my first. I've heard come early because people leave after the first few days. any help would be appreciated. Thanks! BTW- I am talking about this year...i can't think ahead enough for 2007!
CGR, yep, show up at the very begining of SpeedWeek. We got there on Thursday evening, hungout in all the hotel parking lots checking out the action, hit the salt on Friday morning thru Monday nite and by Tuesday morning I was ready for the next adventure somewhere else. Lots of folks were leaving on Monday but Tuesday was right for us. Four full days on the salt was the right amount of time for me and attending at the begining as oppose to the middle or end was the right thing to do, again for us. Your results may vary.
Like Denise says, at least BE THERE for the Friday inspections. (no runs happening, so you can cruze the pits and see EVERYTHING! (may "hit" 400+ entries this year) Runs start Saturday and continue until the following Friday. Some, (because they either "broke" or only have limited holidays) start heading home on Monday and Tue. But there is STILL lots of action. Four days for spectating (starting Fri.) works about right. P.S. - Denise; I'm all out of cookies!!
Hey Bob I think you probably got it figured right. Just call and book your rooms and if the rates are high you probably got the right weekend or maybe you are trying to get the low rates before they get next year figured out . You coming by Blanding??? Hope So. c ya, Sum
