I am from Great Falls Mt and looking for recommendations of a good body shop for a 31 slant window? Also how much the charge.
Maybe you could be a little more precise about what kind of work you are seeking. For example rust repair, chop job, re-paint or prep for paint etc. Most shops I have come across charge an hourly rate these days. So then you need to find a reliable, honest and skilled shop to help keep things right $'s wise...
lol I guess that might help. Rust repair to start off with. Not sure most body shops in town deal with more modern cars.
If you aren't willing to load it up and go a few hundred miles you are stuck in Great Falls or Helena and what ever you can find there. There are some excellent shops in Post Falls Idaho that can turn out high caliber work. It won't be cheap though. Plenty of shops in the Boise area. It's impossible for anyone besides Maaco to give you a price quote without seeing the truck to see exactly what it needs and they aren't going to do any extra unless you pay extra . If you have the body work done down to the point that the painter just has to do the final paint prep and prime/seal it before they shoot it there is almost a good painter who works in a body shop in just about any area that takes on side jobs. You have to buy the paint they specify (your color) and they bring their paint gun and shoot it. Some have access to a paint booth that will cost a few bucks extra but that is worth it. One of my daughter's girlfriends will probably shoot my truck. She school trained custom painters even though she doesn't work in the paint field. She painted her Lowrider and has won awards at a number of shows with it. If not that one of my former students may paint it.
Best I can do is recommend a shop I have used several time down in CO. I hauled my T coupe from ND to him (Bryce) for rust repair work to be done. He has done body work for me as a customer on am 29 Tudor, 26 T Coupe and a 27 T Pickup modified body. He does ch***is work, rust repairs all the way thru to Paint. He has run Gene Winfield body shop cl***es from there with Gene and has nothing to prove. Here are the details should you feel inclined to get in touch to see what is possible. Best of luck in your pursuits. Bryce's Street Rods. 829 State Hwy 52, Erie, CO 80516, United States. Phone: +1 303-828-5108
I would try to deal with someone local. Gotta be some body in GF that works on old cars. Try to contact the local car clubs....they would know. I think there is a car show happening next weekend, maybe ask around there?
