Well it is obviously not a Ford, Dodge and I think Overland had windshield posts that went down though tubes in the cowl like that and had a nut on the bottom of a fairly long rod to hold them in place. Dodge had parallel leaf springs in front an an odd spring setup on the rear that used a semi elliptic spring under the axle with a quarter elliptic spring extending out from the back of the frame rail and a shackle between them. Checking photos I don't think it is Overland. Could be an odd duck from a small manufacture of what there were many in that time frame some that only put out a few dozen cars before folding. It's not a Star I checked that one as the first shop building I ever worked in as a mechanic had been the Star dealership/garage at one time.
Scrolling though a search for 1922 tourings tells you more about what it isn't rather than what it is. If it were here in the Yakima Wa area I'd think my dad's buddy Lyle Brownig got his hands on it in the 30's as dad said he liked to bolt on the doo dahs along with making some mods and that one for sure has the whole Western Auto trinket shelf loaded on it from the looks of things. That and much later wood wheels and headlights
Radiator looks Buick 20’s other bits not, wheels don’t belong, doors look like teens, cowl early 20’s
I think there are so many parts on it that probably didn't come from just one company, I'd hate to put a name on it. I'd say it was originally a teens or early 20s model of whatever. There were only about 165 car companies in "production" during that time frame, could be any of them, or some one of, or a later JC Whitney "custom". The big questions are: Did you drag it home yet? When do we get to see the build thread? Gene
Open the hood if you can and show us the engine picture - might help - but I think it's a put-a-pond which is a 1 of 1.
Spoke to the owner's grandson today, he thought that it was a Dodge from the late teens. Not for sale.
I is a Dodge Brothers. Looks to be about a 1922 or so with different headlamps and added parking lamps and chrome. Different hood, too.
