see if the nuts holdin the carb to the intake and the screws holding the carb together are all tight, andmake sure the base gasket and the gasket between the throttle body and the main body of the carb is still in good condition.

I dont think its a vac leak i did the old hand over the carb trick the car stalled right out i also checked the idle/air bleed valves i could get an adjustment out of them i was thinking something might be wrong with the idle circut....I'm confused what else can i check?

Also check for a vaccuum cap missing. Sounds like a serious vaccuum leak to me.

You might check the things I mentioned, just because they jump out at me as things that could cause your symptoms. btdt

Thanks I'll check that stuff out....I dont think i have any gaskets problems the carb was rebuilt a few months ago...And i checked for loose screws, and carb base bolts they were ok....This all started with a miss at idle which i have tried everything car runs fine just has a miss/shake at idle..The other day i noticed 2 things 1 when i shut the car off i saw gas coming from the carb spilling on my intake and 2 the other day it stalled out of the blue while i was parking it and now today it has a whistle THIS CAR IS WEIRD....So thats why im confused on what the hell is going on here with this carb......

What are you using for a pump? G*** spilling over and the miss may be caused by over fueling the carb, and check the needle and seat, see if it's pushing past there (dirt in the line picked up after rebuild) As for the whistle, I'm in with the first thought, seriouse vac leak, like a missing plug or loose bolt. Is the throttle shaft fitted tightly? Is the gas coming from there?

Well the fuelpump is stock and i have no idea how old it is ....The gas spilling out looked like it was coming form the top of the carb like boiling over...there is no vac caps on the carb just one hard line from the vac advance no other vac sources.....Im wondering if it has a stuck float or stuck needle and seat?....Also it does have a power valve on it ...It is HOLLEY 94 carb....Oh yeah if it had a vac leak how could i choke it right out by putting my hand over the carb if it had a vac leak wouldnt it pick up in speed????

find an intake leak by spraying a LITTLE carb cleaner at the base of the carb and anywhere else that is suspect. if it changes the rpm, there's the source of your leak. pich-off hoses(i.e. dist,wipers,brakes,o.d...), if the rpm changes, follow that hose. you make a whistle by moving large volume of air through small orifice, you are ****ing air!

Check all the nuts and bolts on the carb. Sounds like there is a vacuum leak somewhere. Get a kit and rebuild it if this hasen't been done lately. Pretty easy to work on. Settings (float) come with the kit. Warning - take it apart in a shallow pan so you don't lose anything.
