No, really! I had a hard A/C line get a pinhole in it and they welded it closed instead of running over to the Chevy dealership for a new line. I paid less than what the part alone would have cost. It is a hard line running to the rear A/C on a Suburban along the frame so you know that is money right there. I'm floored, it is an independant garage I found after asking the guys at NAPA who they would have work on their stuff. They will get anything I can't do. S&M Automotive, Borger, TX.
On LeSabre59's old beater GM something around early 90's, it had a A/C hard line that rubbed through. I just put a piece of rubber hose over the spot with a hose clamp. Tightened up, pulled some vacuum, recharged and that beater blew ice cubes!
i used to work at an a/c and electrical shop that did that (i even did it a few times). you have to have the right rod and a light touch.
been there, done that, have the t-shirt. if the cheap repair works people sing your praises, if it fails again soon your a crook that does half assed work Larry
True, but they asked me to come back in a couple days to be sure the fix worked, that to me is customer service. If they show that much interest it tells me they care about their work.
