So I got some more work done on my model t/a today. I didn’t want to cut the body on this thing to make the clutch pedal work so I just rotated the pad. Finally found a windshield frame for it too. It’s not correct for the car but it is close. Not sure if I make this one work or keep searching for the correct one. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I'll follow along on this build since I'm in the process of bringing a tub of my own back to life, although mine is a Model A bodied car.
Too bad you posted this just yesterday and I'm seeing it just now. Friday I gave a friend the windshield posts you need. They were NOS too. Had I seen this first I'd have sent them to you. I had had those windshield posts since sometime before the year 2000. The touring body I had been saving them for went down the road last month.
Not much to report on today. I’ve been trying to go out and put a couple hours in on this every night but Denver just got a snow storm and I’m out of propane for my heater in the garage. I did score a pretty neat air cleaner for the stromberg tho. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
To make you feel BETTER, He has the correct posts: Its the correct W/S frame he seeks. I believe he has a Dodge frame...JMO..
Looks great! I ended up buying a new lower WS from Mac's (I think?) after looking for a decent lower for years. Are those the posts you got from me?
Yes these are the stanchions I picked up from you. They seem to clean up pretty nice so far. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
That's not a Dodge windshield frame. They never had pivots like that. They were larger and flatter with detents for ball bearings and were spring loaded. Dave
You are correct. I have a dodge window frame and it’s exactly how you explained it. I think this one is from an overland. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Got some more work done. The header finally showed up. I got my stromberg rebuilt. I’m still waiting on the tool to install the proper jets in it before I bolt it to the intake. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Haven’t been posting much on here. But since the last time I posted I’ve gotten a ton don’t on the tub. First motor I got running had to replace the valves in it still couldn’t get it to run right ended up buying a new motor and so far it seems good. Was hoping to have her at the dirt drags but that fell thru. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
That's not the original T cowl is it? I don't know those cars very well at all but I thought the Model T's narrowed at the cowl to firewall.
I have an original top frame for your car hanging on the wall in my garage. Came with my original unrestored touring. Frame and original wood, no fabric. Folds great. I built my top so this is a spare if you have interest send me a PM. Great job. jim
Does that windshield frame fit this. https://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/pts/d/tacoma-vintage-roadster-cowl-and-dash/7125527534.html
The only photo I have now is below of the frame folded on the wall. It needs the wood replaced and what is there would make great templates if you want to make your own. The metal frame is in fabulous condition, folds, needs only blasted and coated. Also below is a pix of the car when I brought it home to show its condition. Considering the cost of new i am asking $500 + shipping. If you have interest i will pull it down and take more photos. Let me know if you have interest. Thanks,
