I'm looking for options on installing a correct looking AC vent in the area that's now occupied by the four horizontal bar trim piece on the lower area of my '39 Deluxe dash. Any good ideas?
I have used the A/C louvers from mid 70s to 80's Cadillacs. To take them out of the donor cars, there is a small plastic tab by the outer ends that need to be pried in slightly with a small screwdriver. Cadillacs are nice because they have really good chrome on the plastic louvers.
Have you considered using the radio speaker grill area or is that already occupied? You could mount a couple of AC vents behind the speaker grill and no one would know you even have an AC.
Looks like a lot of stuff hanging under the dash, where are you going to put the ac unit, I would advise using a new small Vintage air & heat unit. HRP
I used these that I got with a Vintage air A/C system I bought, they match the height of the speaker grill nicely.
The pic is a "before" version. All that junk is going away and a new small VA unit is going in. Thanks, HRP!
