I didn't introduce my self. I should have known better then maybe I wouldn't have been harassed. I am from Texas, the name is Spicer. I am currently building a 65 mustang and own a 93 mustang coupe. And I have a 52 Ford Coupe that I am slowly working on in my spare time.

Eww rustangs. Get that shoebox up to the top of the list, then we can be friends. (my brother, and mother drive those things, and I pray daily for their safety)

I'm pretty sure that my old 9 sec. mustang could out run the majority of the cars here. And yes I like my 65 stang over my shoebox any day of the week. But in my opinion a hotrod is a hotrod regardless of the brand, style, or year. Hell just as long as it's rear wheel drive with an american v8 in it I am happy no matter if its a flathead, hemi, or mod motor.

  6. I've got a line on a '65 Mustang I'd gladly trade ya for that shoebox.

    Welcome.

THe whole reason I joined this board is for my love of hotrodding. And to learn. And my shoebox is going to the top of my list as soon as I complete my 65 withen the next few months.

and at the end of the day, it gets lost in the parking lot. my rusty chevy gets heads turning, and its more like a 19 second ride.

First let me say that we all love cars here on this board. With that said let's also note that rules read 64 and older for the reason of keeping muscle car era cars off here. Some like to Row there own and believe it is the only way and some of us just aren't physically able to do all the Shifting (Especially on the hills of Tacoma or Seattle anymore) Some believe that there is only one color for a car and then others think a car should be a Work of art for a museum. I fit in there somewhere but haven't actually decided how to stereotype myself yet. So with all things considered you can get away with asking questions in the form of "Can you help me" but to come on here and want to bring your Mustang is a No No, as far as I can see. Gumpa

I came on here to learn more about vintage hotrods. NOT muscle cars. It's not like I came on here and started preaching about mustangs. I just stated what my cars were when I introduced my self.

Just trying to help, so don't take this the wrong way.
I think where you screwed up was:
    1. putting your shoebox on the bottom of the list HERE. As far as this board is concerned your other 2 cars are irrelevant.
    2. Bragging about your "9 second Mustang".

Speaking of which, please pm me some info on that 9 second Mustang. I happen to work for the NMRA (not a plug as it is also irrelevant here) and might be interested in hearing some details.

Don't worry about some of the bad attitudes. You gotta have some thick skin. This board is focused on pre 63ish cars so you won't get any love for the Mustangs on here.

I had a 93 LX and an 87 GT in a previous life. www.dfwstangs.net is a good local source for Mustang info.

For an all around hot rod board, try www.hotrodders.com

Aside from all that, tell us more about your shoebox. Lots of owners here. Post pics if you can.

    Welcome from Mesquite!

I will get pics up of the showbox as soon as I get a camera. And I wasnt bragging about my mustang. I was just coming back with something when people started to bash my ride.

no one cares about the muscle cars here...right up until they need to go fast, then you will find we are a priceless source of info.
that being said, it just not a real good idea to bring them up in polite conversation here, kinda like politics at a bar, or religion at the dinner table.

that said, I love cars. all cars. I like it here because this board has the largest number of people who are actually building them, period. and since that is what I do for a living, it's a good place to be.

you'll get it. stick around. there are some guys here that have done some stuff to shoeboxes you wouldn't fucking beleive! pretty much pick whatever motor you want, and however you want it to look and chances are, someone here has done it before and can steer you in the right directions for parts, tech, and let you know where you are about to screw up.
    cheers!

My stang is a couple of months from finished. SO this weekend I am pullin the flathead out of the shoebox to start rebuilding that. I'v already got her stripped down to metal and ready for paint and body. But currently I am not sure as to what route I am going to go color wise yet.
