Look forward to the show and details on the build. Chip Foose is miles ahead of the TV show competition, class act. :)

that brings up a good question:

do the guys that work on the cars on overhaulin' get anything for being there/working on the cars?

...you mean beyond working with an EXTREMELY talented team, hanging with the most popular builder in the world, and doing something you love all week? Sounds like a no-bainer to me.
Last time I checked, building a ride was fun, not just a profit machine... and I'd love to work with some of those guys....

I know Ben's family(he is a regular on the show) and his helping out a few times turned into a full time job for him. He went to one of the big tech schools before the Overhaulin thing. He is probably learning more now and geting paid for it....I would put up with a bit of sleep depervation to get a little insight into Chip's design ideas....EVILT

actually that brings up a question for me. since we have had some hambers on overhaulin, maybe they can answer this for me. how much does chip work on the car? (is he there grinding and welding with the rest of the guys) because the show makes him look like he does alot, and he probably does i just always wondered. he strikes me as the type that likes to get his hands dirty.

Hell, yeah. Consider that he not only designs a killer car, but knows the entire build, and basically acts as project manager on the entire thing... hell, to do all of that in a WEEK, and crank out a super high-quality end product like that... damn... I'd go and sweep the floors just to witness the whole thing.

  23. I don't know about that "super high-quality end product," thing. On some of those cars thay don't even touch the bottom side of the project, and at Barret-Jackson while promoting one of the cars, Chip said "this is not an overhaulin' car, this thing is nice." I'm only quoting. But I would give my left nut to work with someone of his vision and recources.

  24. From what I've seen Chip is only getting his hands dirty by drawing stuff. That's not a knock, just an observation.

I heard that myself, & thought about what was said, He was just @ the GNRS on that Friday, BJ on Sat, then back @ GNRS on Sunday for the awards.
When I did look @ one Plum Crazy Colored Mopar that they did, it did had a wave job on the inner fender panels so I thought that he was refering to something like that.

I didn't think that it's a matter of payment as sponsors do kick in for the majority of the shop space & materials, but as a bonafide reality tv show it would tend to further ones career as a qualified builder.

Mike is no longer with Fl-oyd now @ MHT wheels though Chips association.
Charlie= same deal with Chip @ his personal shop.
    Bluebear-@ Jimmy Whites CCR.

All of these poeple had associations before with their curent employers, but
being on the tube & seeing how you act when a camera is around doesn't hurt a bit when you go to hire someone.
I could tell you that I would never hire a guy like Duane from Fl-oyds.
If there ever was someone who doesn't repect another individual, It is him:mad:.

I'll hold my tongue on the rest of this though=:D  ;)

I just wish I was good enough that someone like Chip would ask me to come.

Sure eager to hear about what they did, and that's one episode I'll definitely watch!

You must not be watching the same show that I'm watching because Chip is constantly wailing a hammer at something from my point of view.
