I vote for the 35. Yes the chevy is up and moving but how long would you be happy with it stock really. So shortly after buying it you will start modding it which will eather put it out of commision for a time or cost more then I care to think about.

bonus if you buy the truck you can sell me the extra cab.

I've been a Chevy guy all my life, but between the two choices you have for about the same money, my suggestion is to go with the '35. Like Porkn****** said, take off the stuff you don't like, do some cosmetic things to give it more of the look you want. Enjoy the MII, and have a road worthy truck which, as has been said, you can turn at some point and move toward what you "really" want. In the mean time have a good time driving the thing.

If your really interested in the cab we can work something out. Even if for some reason I don't buy it I bet I could get it pretty cheap for ya.

I know you don't know me, and I know that you prolly realize it after all the comments - but the Chevy isn't worth that - and you should go with the Ford truck as far as overall value, and resale goes. I have a 53 chevy Belair, and I love it! But the Ford truck has more potential overall.

Yes I would be interested I have a T frame and most of an A front end (need wishbones) and a 69 buick wildcat for the running gear. But it seems every time I try and line up a body some thing happens. Don't put your self out but let me know how much and were it is and we will see what we can do.

Truck, best bang for the buck, plus parts and new parts installed. Can't go wrong with that purchase. Knock him down a few bucks just to sweet'n the deal and make everyone one here jealous.

  8. I would go with the 35 truck, and yes, I would leave the fenders on.

  9. Thats a tough one I'd go with what you really want. Cuz in the end, it's you that has to look at it in your driveway. Personally The chevy looks better. But I'm into sleds.

That's not why I have my cars.

Having said that, can YOU do the remaining work on the truck, or are you gonna have to pay someone? 'Finishing up'can cost a LOT more than you think.

All that aside, I'd take the truck.

    Good Luck!

It's not just a investment. I want a Hot Rod to enjoy. what I ment by that was which one would I be less likly to lose money on. Money is hard to come by these days, We all know that. I know its hard to get your money back sometimes.

I think I can do just about everything to finish the truck. with the exception of the body work and spraying some satin paint (no compressor)..I might be able to do the body work I just would have to take my time havent really done much of it...

the 53 on the otherhand...Needs alot of shaving and body mods to make me happy. I do not own a welder nor can I weld anyway. Doctor says it will interfere with my defibrillator I have in my chest.(electronic heart device) Yeah a Hot Rodder who cant weld... So that means I'd have to pay somebody.

The 35 is sounding like alot better deal right now...im glad i asked the hambers.. helps a young guy like me who gets a lil to excited think things over :D

The last line in your post contains the operative word in this question, "investment". The Ford will always bring good money if you don't hack it up, they sell themselves and I don't know anyone how would turn down a 30's something pickup. On the other hand, I've never liked early 50's chevy's, with exception of one or two maybe. To me the Chevy is over priced by about $4500.00. It will never come close to the popularity of the Ford. Like I said, "investment" is the operative word here. Do they have ***les?
