Hey Rick, it was great meeting you this weekend. The fab work on this truck is awesome. I hope to see you at a few more shows. Those front stub kits you sell are a great idea as well. Show some more of those build pics!
A Binder huh? Damn and I thought my old man was the only person left calling them that....that's funny. Sweet start. I hope to catch up to that stage of the build someday....if I only had the extra cash... Looks awesome. I used to drive by a farmhouse that had an old IH sitting behind the barn every day. I always wondered what it might look like rodded out. Too late to go hunt it down now the guy pulled out into his driveway and tore it all apart this spring...I can only speculate what he's doin' with it, I hope it'll be saved one way or another.
Why do you call it a 'binder'? I have a genuine horse drawn cornbinder that belonged to my grandfather who was born in 1899. The brand of the corn binder is John Deere
If you want to see it done look at the Live Fast Omaha post. It is the one with the green frame. The International trucks were called Binders because the company was well known for their agricultural equipment. If Deere, MM, Oliver, and all of the others would have made a truck, then maybe they would have been called something else.
I've been taking pics of the wheels in my neighborhood that are disappearing out of peoples yards as the McMansions displace the homes. One of the subjects is a 40's/50's? IH flatbed. I keep passing it and wondering if it could be a candidate for "freshening". Any ideas on this beauty. I Have a number of these cars/trucks "from the neighborhood" at a picture site: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v296/Powerband/ORPHAN%20CARS%20IN%20MY%20NEIGHBORHOOD/ Hers's the Cornbinder: - Fight urbanization! - Put old cars in your yards.
these old trucks make awsome rods , take a little time to do a nice chop, slam it down to earth, it can be a sick ride!!!! I will send along some pics of other big trucks that have been slammed down to earth and sittin on a custom chassis later MACS RATZ
Took a long look at your Binder at Goodguys, Des Moines. A nasty ride! I appreciate the time you took to explain how you did the chop and a number of other details.
Its good to see another Binder being rodded. Your ride is to COOL!! If my wife saw your she would make me slam mine. Keep us all up to date with pics. Keith in Missouri
here we go, the trucks almost done just waiting to get the threads finished hope its done for rock n rods!! later Rick MACS RATZ www.macsratz.com
It looks better than I could have ever guessed. Did I see your truck in a magazine recently talking about the exhaust? I can't wait to see it up close and live. Keep up the great work! Keith in Missouri
Very nice fab work. How does it feel with the solid mounted engine? A lot of vibration feedback or doesn't it bother? Either way awesome looking build. Frank
we used a stock 454, it is real smooth, the more hump you give your gine the more shake your body gets, it feels great when you mash it , it tilts to the right and goes forward, the mickeys give it all the bite it needs thanks Rick, macsratz.com
Welcome to the HAMB Rick. It was good meeting you in Omaha. Love the chop on that little truck!.....you know how I feel about the big exhaust though...haha. See you at Rock N Rods. Marcy
