the va has a excellent voc rehab program if you qualify, pay for up to 2 years of college plus living allowance, and if you start as a apprentice, they match the employers check and you get paid journeymans wages, lots of tricks a old dog can learn yet, worth checking out. i got that phone number too. i would be doing it if my head was on straight half the time.

 

I can certainly sympathize with you; similar financial treachery contributed to the demise of my marriage, and I had to dig my way out of a deep hole, including having to pay her half of the equity of a house that I made every mortgage payment on with no assistence from her in the first place! Hold the line, and your friends will make themselves known.

 

Normally she fine as wine ,but she just never got it through her head after i lost my job in Jan that we had to adjust our household FUN spending DOWN, She just happily carried on like we had 2 full incomes instead of one + a half w Unemployment ins.which has now expired. ,NOT good timing as when ya don't pay bills they ALWAYS catch up w you at the worst times its like they have a no money radar to mess up your life in pay back, now that we have slept on it + tempers have dropped off, I am going to call them in a little bit and see if they will work me a bit on a payment schedule , IF they did'nt get to PO'd w me ,they MAY cooperate.

 

Mike, sorry to hear about your misfortunes. My dad has gone through the same things. Its amazing how quickly an interview can end as soon as you walk in the door and see that you are old or have a disability, heaven for bid your both!! I hope things look up for you real soon.

 

First off I would get rid of your wife for writing hot checks. Being a small business owner and have revieved hot checks before I know how this feels to try to cash. Second off sell your car and all the parts. Itis amazing it is always something, Winter was gonna be to cold and gas was gonna be to high to pay for heat and now this. Suck it up and move on with. This is a hard world and will always have its ups and downs. You got to hang on to the important stuff and keep moving. Drop the stuff you dont need. Being a Vet like you said then you know not to give up. You gotta do what it takes to survive and I am sorry to say that the internet just aint a necessity unless you are running a business.

I got my financial time bomb in October . . . not fun. I didn't do enough of the checking on what goes in and goes out. Over the years my pay has went downhill, but expenses keep going up . . . go figure. Gas is going thru the roof. Hang in there guy, we'll all do all we can!

 

I got a slight reprieve from them both (2 weeks) pretty decent of them actually, considering the bad check and non payment on the other I put some more stuff up for sale that i dug out last night,of course they would rather have me pay them late (for a late fee) than say screw it n just put the house up 4 sale + leave the area which is exactly what i was thinking last night. the rod is the LAST thing i will sell , it just plain took too long to get it all together and i don't have it in me to all that over again (about a five year stretch during which i both felt good and half dead at different times) I am in the enviable position to be loan free and everything (except the bills now) is paid for, BUT my credit was LOOOOOOOOOONG ago shot to hell,so loans are way out of reach- they literally laugh at me -(for real every loan officer laughed in my face) so yah I am selling off the unneeded and keeping what is important to me my house (the dump iS paid for, so i will try to keep that,but I am not against selling it ) rod and boat ,everything else is up for grabs.

yea, i hear that, been told it a lot of times myself, and they were usually right, but its me n the wifeys 6 year anniversary today. i hate her guts every once in a while, but thats kinda my choice. easier to make them decisions when you dont got other stuff to think about. seems most guys would rather be on the beach drinkin with a big tiddy brunette and a redhead than at home with the b/s, but it dont always work that way.
