I'm working on a 41 Ford truck. I have the bed, minus tailgate, but I don't have the structure underneath. Can some one give me the dimension from the bottom of the rear cab window or the bottom of the rear window rubber to the top of the bed front panel? This would give me a starting point. A 40 - 47 truck would be the same I think. Thanks.

If you are talking pickup trucks, 40 & 41 use the same ch***is. 42-47 use a different ch***is so measurements may be different than what you are looking for.

There are several reference sites on the Web that show the dimensions of these beds. I cannot recall any off the top of my head right now where is but the dimensions are out there. As well as parts you will need like the sub frame rails and the longitudinal stringers. Macs. There are also bed wood makers that have handy dimensions.

I measured my '46 and it's 11-3/4" from the top of the forward bed panel to the bottom of the rear window seal. This is with new window seal rubber and new cushions installed between the frame and bed bottom. Hope this helps....

I have an original, complete, unrestored, (never taken apart) '41.
From the top of the bed front panel to the extreme bottom of the window gasket (rubber) is 9 1/2".
