I need to replace the bulb sockets on my Fairlane, some corrosion but mainly the wires are really brittle. I see them listed on Ebay, but I can't get mine out of the tail light housing. Any suggestions are appreciated.

They just pop in there (no twisting). Should just pull straight out

Try pushing them out backwards if possible. Should just pull straight out, but often they do not because of corrosion

On my '59, I drilled the light buckets out for GM style sockets. These clip in securely and provide good grounds. The OG Ford ones were small in diameter.

I tried pulling them, no go. They will spin freely in the housing so I know they are not rusted in. May just have to cut them off and drill them out

Mine fell apart when I took them out, badly corroded. I opted for the GM newer style since I doubted I could put the OG style back into mine.
