What are you guys using for a transmission crossmember on 55/56 with a 302/c4 or AOD. I got the trans mount from the stickie file. My car didn't have a transmission or crossmember when I bought it.

If someone has the dimensions, I may be able to have one made. Obviously I can measure from side to side, but more concerned with the drop in the middle

I do not know if the OD needs a drop in the center or not, but there's plenty of metal to trim if needed.

The stock cross member is OK as is with an AOD you do have to redrill the mounting holes here is the one in my '54. 1AOD.jpg You will have to fabricate an extension plate if you use a C4 some members posted pictures of them a while back.

Jeff, kinda off the subject, but you have cherry bombs that appear to stop just short of the rear axle. How does that work out? I have a wagon and plan to do the cherry bombs too. What is the diameter of your exhaust? Are you using the headman tube headers?

I notched mine similar to 50sboy did, but i have the crossmember behind also..I made a removable section behind to make removing the transmission easier (if needed)

I have HEDMAN 88400's the exhaust is 2 1/4" straight tube which lines up with the original exhaust hangers the bolt holes are on both sides of the frame because the Six and the V8 were on opposite sides. I will later add tailpipes from a local shop.
