Post more pics! Bigger pics. Especially of the front end. These are hard to see the details. But the proportions are perfect. What amount did you chop?

I put about 200 miles on it then the right axle bearing went bad:mad: .Fixed it,put another 200 or so miles on it.Then I notice a small puddle of gear oil on the ground. The NEW bearing and seal is leaking. So,tomorrow I am going to take it apart AGAIN to see what went wrong.....I hate cars!!!!:D

The grill is going to be made up of some cut down 51 Ford grill parts.

Hard to tell from the pics, ( little small and dark) but the stainless around the windows looks good.

Any close up shots of that and how did you cut or reshape it to fit?

It's about ready to start the chop. Down to bare frame and body. Took the engine and trans out over the 4th - 1200lbs!!!! And I've been sick with a parasite - viva la mexico! :)

I'm in El Segundo. About to pull it out of my cramped garage and move it to my nephews in Hemet. Then maybe I can get some pics of it. All I have right now is pics I took just prior to buying it. Sat in Modesto since 74. Only two dime size holes in the entire thing. But the interior, motor, trans was a wash.

Doing the chop and chassis work in his garage. He just graduated from Wildtech(sp?) in PA. And works at a Rod shop someplace out there. Only doing customs and rods. No insurance work. He tried that and it killed him.

Plan on chopping, lowering, air bags, different front (cad or something later) grille and bumper, maybe same interior redone (I've got an industrial sewing machine from another business I owned) or maybe do something out of a late 60's car. I also want to do a trailing arm rearend from a chevy truck. seems to be the easiest. I don't want to make it into a mercury but they so but ugly in the front I feel like it needs customizing.

Pretty interesting car though had power windows, seats and antenna running off a hydraulic pump on the firewall. All hardlines thru it.

Nice Merc. I'd like to see it sometime.

    Then again maybe not!

  23. The front end of a Lincoln might seem ugly, but a custom one would be pretty unique. There just aren't many running around. There's a badass chopped black one here in O.C.,but I don't see it very much.If I find the pic I have of it,i'll post it.

  24. Keep that up and I won't give you a ride BUD!!
