Dragged her out for a bath. Now Photoshop her please.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by oldcarmike, Jul 15, 2006.

  1. Well, last weekend I sold a 235 (finally) to one of Hellfish's buddies. Naturally it was buried inthe garage so I had to get all kinds of stuff outta the way. I managed to find my Packard under a layer of 7 year old dust. Here it is.

Photoshop fellers - have at it. Show me what you think it righteous. I already got her built in my head but I'm curious what others would do.

Thanks. Now I have to figure out how to resize pictures so you don't need a magnifying gl***....

Looks like a clean machine, what are your plans for it? I could cut the picture up, but I'd like to know what you want to do to it. I'd find the missing trim pieces, add skirts and a drop, and I'd shut 'er down there, maybe a visor.

    I like that Rambler too.

ok, i am a 100 amateur and used paint, but i saw a chop and section in its future, moved the roof line back or lay it down, smooth it out, i donno, just messin around

  5. Thanks guys. I did it the old fashioned way by taking actual photos and cutting them up.

Plans are for a two door conversion (loved your tech piece Squablow), chopped top, lowering and a modern front end. If the chop gets messed up, a real likelyhood as it'll be my first chop, I'll go with a Carson top.

Color will be medium green or a gold/copper (think Neil East roadster)
    Skirts for sure
    White Whites
No spots or visor, just not my style
Factory trim from just behind top of front wheel arch all the way back to even with front of rear bumber

I've attached a comparo of stock and my "photochop" of the real photos.

Good Looking car, but one question!! Why was that beauty sitting around for seven years in your garage!?!

  8. D-I-V-O-R-C-E!! That and the concurrent bankrupcty. Oh, then there's the raising my 2 sons, trying to get out of debt, remodel a house so I could refinance it to pay off the ex and not lose the house. Did I mention my laziness that ran rampant in that period of my life. I think the laziness had a lot to do with all the other stuff. Them days is over. :D

I got an engine and ****** (AMC 258 and a TorqueFlite - hey I got less than $300 in them both) ready to put in her as soon as I rebuild that carb, and make headers, then I need to cough up $$$ & get a wiring kit, convert it to 12v. Then all she'll need is tires as the ones on there last saw asphalt in 1976, clean the tank, new fuel lines, redo the brakes and lines, get and all the little stuff that. That should take what, 2-3 days?? Any volunteers to help??

Eventually it'll get the 360 / 727 combo I have in the garage since 1991 - read paragraph one for clarity on why that's been around for so long.

I bought the car form a buddy's mom after her husband died. The car was his and is an old restoration. It last ran and drove in '76. The #7 & 8 cylinders are deeply pitted from a leaking head gasket. The wiring is shot too. But the car is in great condition otherwise. Very solid with only a few little spots to patch. I'd be proud to drive it as it looks now.

Maybe I'll make the Hunnert Car Pile-Up with it. Thena agin there's the Rambler to consider....

Packards are different. I like the slammed with skirts look. Copper would be a cool color. How original is the car now?

    Jon

  24. The car is pretty much stone stock. I a have a set of factory skirts and they are going on. The look real good on there.

Groundpounder has WAY TOO much time on his hands, although I was laughing my *** off. I am diggin the gold treament but I'd go with Caddy sombreros or similar intead of the Radirs.

I don't have much for custom pics on my computer, all I could find were radirs that kinda worked lol. I don't like them on there much either.

  26. I know exactly where you got her. Those pics are hilarious though, thanks for the laugh. :D

haha, yea, i was having fun with it, couldnt sleep so i just started messing with the paint program,

i think a chop with the rear window layed down, and lowered with the skirts would look real nice on there if done right, or by someone other than me....haha its got nice lines and kinda get the lead sled thing going on there maybe...
i was kind of diggin the look of this one or maybe that last one without the batman fin treatment i was messing with
