Guys, Looking for a machine shop in the KC area. Just needing an 8BA block bored - no assembly. There is one guy here in KC but he's apparently busy with commercial accounts and may take years. Don't mind driving if needed as long as they know flatheads.
    Any pointers would be appreciated.

I'd call Noland's Cylinder Head Service in Kansas City. If they cannot do it they will tell you where to take it.

You could call Baxter over there in Lawrence, if he's still there. Was a couple years ago.

Great! Yeah not sure about Baxter though friends have dealt with him before. I've been to Day Automotive for another project(incomplete). They are pretty good at balancing from what I hear. I'll check with those guys and also with Fiddlers. Never heard of them. Nolands did some V-6 heads for me this winter. I don't think they do block work but I'll check.
I've heard shops that do other V8s don't understand the offset crank and bore all 8 cylinders symmetrically to the CL, ruining the block., This is a first bore dialed at only .002-.007 out. If good it'll be around a long time.
    Much appreciated.

Or you could drive to the other border and check with Morley Performance in Fenton Mo.

Pardon my ignorance. Good rep? Grew up in St Louis so not too far for me.

I drive there for machine work from central Mo. Not much trust with the shops around here.
