Check out the vender areas at fordbarn.com or ahooga.com for original stuff. Snyder's used to have an online catalog, as did TAM's, MAC's and so forth. Bert's, in Denver, is one of the cheapes for original stuff, and is honest person to deal with, as is Walt at Snyder's. I think *****in, Ch***is Engineering, Speedway are just a few of the street rod vendors that handle this part, but an original that looks good, is still probably available at Bert's. Ebay has them at times in the Model A section there. Cl***ifieds at ahooga and fordbarn may net something as well.
Good luck in finding what you want,

I'd get the one Ch***is Engineering sells. You can use it in a stock frame, you don't get a cut down to width unit that requires boxing and riding on a **** weld like TCI sells. This one is wide enough to fit into the stock rails.

It's got the caster built into it, and it's a nice part, also has an additional inch of drop built into it.

So far I've used 3 of these....no problems. Don't remember what they sell for now, but a call will get you a free catalog. The rest of the stuff they sell is right on also.

Personally, I'd avoid a stock Model A unit. All of them seem to have a lot of cracks and defects, and are made of thinner guage steel as well. Save them for the restorers who will not use anything bigger than 40 hp.

  12. Just to add another option, I use the ones from American Stamping, they're about $73.00 also. They call it 1" drop, but I measured almost 1 1/2 lower than a stock A.

I will be boxing the frame but it will be inset 1/2' so I dont think yours will work as I would have to make up the difference in width, thanks

ok I need to be schooled. I know when an A crossmember is used in a Duece it drops it a little, but will the cross members talked about drop you an 1-1/12 more used in a duece ch***is?? Ive look for a flat front cross member that looks like a factory piece but only found one place and they will not be made again for a few more months.

LOL, yeah, my mistake in not proofing first before hitting the enter ****on. Still, I think they would know who your are speaking of, even at Snyders. :)

In our shop we use the one manufactured by Deuce Factory. It has 7 degrees of caster built in and plenty of radiator clearance. 65.00 in our price sheet. We are dealers for most major manufacturers.
