I don’t believe it’s AA. More like 40ish and later flathead Ford truck transmission.

Not AA. I'd say a little later Ford flathead V8 from the 40's.

WG means Warner Gear I think, with all the replies you get it should be identified in no time.

it has the 40&up style clutch shaft, and its odd that its not a removable hogs head. perhaps later like early 50's. those were synchronized, and are saleable.

  9. NOT AA. AA was not 4 speed.
On the top of the bellhousing there should be a VIN number. Check it against the Ford Vin numbers. It will at least narrow it down to early, mid, or later year.
My thought is that it is a 4 speed from a 49 thru 53 Ford large truck F3 or greater.

  10. Case is O1T casting so '40's V-8 truck.

Fun shifting if non-syncro 4 speed.:)

  12. The prefix on an old Ford part number indicates the first model it was used on. o1T- is the prefix for a '40 Ford big truck. So apparently there is some difference between it and the trans case used on earlier big trucks. It's a non-synchro granny gear 4 speed, and it has provision with the bolt-on side cover to install a power takeoff to power the winch on a wrecker or the pumps on a fire truck. The two mounting bosses on the shifter tower are to mount the parking brake mechanism.

  13. I have a transmission just like that on my 1936 ford big truck. I believe that one was intended for a pickup with the frame mount it has on the back.

It’s a 4 speed with overdrive I believe. Mine has the PTO that someone had mentioned before
