If I'm posting this in the wrong place please kill my thread and let me know where I should do it... I'm building a '54 Ford Pickup. By "building" I mean I'm mostly getting frustrated with it and struggling to find time to work on it - I start by recruiting my mother to watch the kids or begging my wife to let me be alone in the garage for an hour, and praying to the house gods for crap to stop breaking. But this is not how my life goes... I'm looking for someone in the Maine/NH area that wants to pick away at some mechanical and wiring work for an hourly rate. My only avenue for finding someone so far has been a few phone calls to places I know about (one was way too expensive and another is booked out for a couple years) and randomly starting conversations at cruise-ins, but this method is not working. I don't want to give up on my truck, my kids are too young to store it until they've moved out, and unfortunately they have no interest in helping me. I hope one of you guys knows someone (or is someone) who does good quality work and is interested in doing things like wiring, gauges, fuel line, and hooking up a shifter. All these things would be simple if the truck were fully stock, but being a hodge podge of parts makes it a little more challenging (at least for me). Please let me know if you have any recommendations. Thanks for reading. Sorry again if this is not appropriate thread material...
Andy is in PA now and does some very nice work, I would imagine he is pretty busy however. Good luck.
Try and contact Eli English from the Alter-Boys CC. Im pretty sure he's swamped but he has a great network and can maybe help find someone for you. Another option is to drag it down to the Helger Bros Speed Shop in Little Compton Rhode Island. - doesn't get better than that place and reasonable.
