Just when you think you know you a guy he does something totally unexpected.... like buying a stock Model T  FAB32 is the second one of my ex-drag racing friends to buy a stock Model T to drive around. I guess the older you get the slower you get as well. Here is Frank's new ride

  2. What's that thing got - about 14" of ground clearance???

These were the original SUV's. Sunday drive sport, every other day utility. I love the old movies of T's and other cars of the era slogging through 8" deep mud "roads" of the day.

I've been having a ball with this thing. The neighbors don't know what to think but the new guy across from my shop stopped me today and asked if this is what I'm putting the 435 hp 427 in. Told him the motor mounts should be here the first of the week.
I've got a new respect for the old timers, have you ever driven one of these? There are more pedals to push and levers to operate than a backhoe. Top speed, around 30-35 mph so the pacemaker doesn't even kick in:cool: :D

I like it. I wish I could afford one for a daily driver. Just think when and if he gets tired of it, He will have an excellent project car. Gumpa

Gumpa, Don't tell anyone but that's EXACTLY what I've got in mind. the body will eventually get replaced so it's still a functioning car and this body (totally rust free) will get the "hot rod " treatment. The nice part is that it won't get torn down untill all of the ducks are in a row for the transformation. In the meantime the grandkids get rides in Grandpa's old buggy and Mom and I get to cruise it to supper once in awhile. If we leave early enough we'll make it back before dark. The restraurant is only 5 miles away so if I run her wide open should only take a half hour each way.  :D

    I know a guy that's getting out of compe***ive TA/D racing...
How do you think one of those blown, injected Hemi's would move that down the road?:D

  12. Maybe that is what Frank though I meant by that "32 restorer's" comment last week!:D Ha! [he surely knows] I wouldn't insult a real hotrodder like him....

I suppose we all have a little lust for the "Ol days"......
I -DO-like the old original cars -I just am not the the point where I like em enough to own one!
